About Farzana Rezaie
Farzana Rezaei, a woman of resilience, born in 1993 (1372), holds a bachelor’s degree in law and has dedicated her life to defending justice, empowering women, and serving her community. She is the only woman who courageously carried the weight of multiple responsibilities on her shoulders.
Farzana, the founder and director of the logistics company “Banu Rezaei,” became a shining example of women’s ability to thrive in entrepreneurship, even under the difficult circumstances of Afghanistan. She transformed her business into a space of work and hope for women, looking beyond just economic profit.
Alongside her professional success, Farzana founded the Afghan Women’s Union—a platform for connection, support, and a strong voice for women who had long been marginalized. She firmly believed that no lasting change could happen without the conscious and active participation of women.
By establishing the Fayeq Institute of Higher Education, Farzana once again proved that education is the heartbeat of transformation. This institution became a path for hundreds of young girls and boys who kept the dream of learning alive in their hearts.
During the time of the Republic, she served as a legal advocate for three years in the country’s legal system and was also actively involved in the fields of human rights and civil society. However, her life was upended with the fall of the government.
Forced into exile after the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan, Farzana Rezaei courageously stood at the forefront of women’s and girls’ protests—fearless and determined, her voice shattered the walls of silence. She did not only stand beside the protesters—she became one of the flagbearers of the fight for human dignity, women’s rights, and justice.
Farzana, with unwavering honesty and courage, condemned the Taliban’s crimes, including targeted killings, systematic suppression of minorities, and the ban on girls’ education. Her voice became an echo for thousands of silenced women, and her image became a symbol of resistance against darkness and tyranny.
Her bold, smart, and impactful presence in the media not only raised public awareness but played a crucial role in exposing the Taliban’s misogynistic and inhumane policies. Farzana became more than a civil activist—she became the voice of justice for a wounded nation.
Now, even in exile, Farzana Rezaei has not left the battlefield. With unwavering determination, she continues the path of advocacy, holding high the flag of human rights and freedom.
She has now founded the “Women’s Rights and Human Rights Movement” in exile—a movement that echoes the pleas of women whose voices were lost under the shadow of oppression. She also publishes a journal titled “Women in Exile”—a publication that has become the voice of women who have experienced exile but have not lost hope.
Farzana Rezaei is the embodiment of a woman who, even in the harshest conditions, does not give up. She stands firm, with her eyes set on the future, continuing to fight for freedom, equality, and justice.
1.Mission
The Movement of Women in Exile was established in April 2025 by a coalition of human rights and women’s rights advocates, united by a shared commitment to addressing the challenges faced by Afghan women under Taliban rule. With a focus on advocating for the legal and rightful protections of women, the movement seeks to raise awareness of their struggles, amplify their voices, and foster international support for their empowerment. Through diplomatic engagement, collaboration, and education, the movement aims to promote a future where Afghan women can live with dignity, security, and equal access to opportunities, regardless of their circumstances.
